Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1.25 cup milk
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • First in a skillet, brown the ground beef. Do not season the ground beef because the gravy will be seasoned by the bouillon cubes. You can adjust the salt later.
  • Add the diced onion in about halfway of the beef being completely cooked.
  • When the ground beef is almost done cover the beef with flour and lower heat to medium. Then mix the flour in with the ground beef and onion.
  • Combine the beef broth and milk first then pour them in together.
  • Next, crumble both bouillon cubes over the hamburger gravy. Add the remaining seasoning as well.
  • Allow the gravy to cook while you continue to stir until thickened. Once thickened remove from heat.
  • Serve the hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes.
