Equipment

  • 9x9 baking dish

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 cup frozen peas & carrots, thawed
  • 3 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Topping

  • 2 pounds russet potatoes
  • 8 tablespoon butter
  • 1/3 cup half & half
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan

Instructions

  • First, leave the frozen peas and carrots out so that they can thaw. Or just place them in fridge overnight. Then place the potatoes in boiling water and cook until soft, about 20-30 minutes.
  • Now, prep all the ingredients before starting the recipe. Preheat oven to 400℉.
  • In a pot, cook and brown the turkey then remove it from the pan.
  • Then, add in the onions and garlic and cook them until soft and fragrant.
  • Make a little room in the pot and add in the tomato paste. Cook with the onions and garlic for about 15 seconds.
  • Now, add back in the cooked ground turkey along with the peas and carrots.
  • Add in the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce. Lastly, sprinkle the flour across the top then mix. After, add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Next, prep the potatoes. Combine all the ingredients together and taste for salt.
  • In a 9x9 baking dish add the meat mix first and pat down. Carefully spread the mashed potatoes topping across the meat.
  • Place in a preheated oven for 25-30 or until the top starts to brown.
  • Remove and allow to cool before serving.
