French Onion Soup Rice

French onion soup rice is a simple oven baked rice dish then topped with gooey gruyere cheese. Sautéed sweet onions pair perfectly and it's super easy to make.

  • 9x9 baking dish or 9 inch circle baking dish

Ingredients
 

  • 1.25 cup white rice, dry
  • 2 cup beef broth
  • 10 ounce can of Campbell's French onion soup
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 8 ounce gruyere cheese, grated

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425℉.
  • In a baking dish add the French onion soup and beef broth. Then, add the rice and give it a stir. Cover the dish with foil then place in oven for 25 minutes.
  • After 25 minutes uncover the rice. Carefully add in the butter then bake for the remaining 25 minutes.
  • Now, the rice will be cooked. Remove the dish then fluff the rice. Add the shredded cheese on top then place back in the oven on broil.
  • Once the cheese is melted and bubbly remove the dish. Allow it to cool a bit before serving.
