Ingredients

  • 4 cup broccoli chopped
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion diced
  • 4 ounce carrots shredded
  • 4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounce cheddar cheese grated or cubed

Instructions

  • Take the fresh broccoli and roughly chop it. For this recipe you are welcome to use shredded carrots or chop them from whole carrots.
  • Now, add the diced onion, broccoli, and carrots to the crockpot.
  • Mix the chicken broth and cornstarch. Then, pour it over the ingredients in the crockpot.
  • Turn the crockpot on high. The recipe will take about 3 hours to cook on high. For the low setting it will be possibly 4 hours because the veggies cook very quickly once everything is hot.
  • About 30 minutes before the recipe is finished, add in the garlic powder, cheese, and heavy cream. Mix everything together.
  • Lastly, add salt and pepper to taste before serving.
