Mix together all the ingredients for the meatballs. Once combined, allow to sit for 15 minutes to let the breadcrumbs do there thing.
Preheat the oven to 400℉.
Form the meatballs. Then, in a pan on medium high heat with oil, sear the meatballs on 1-2 sides then remove from pan. Just sear them, they will be raw in the middle. Do not try to cook them all the way.
Once finished searing the meatballs, add them to the baking dish. In a bowl, mix together the ingredients for the sauce. When tasting for sauce there may be a slight tin flavor from the can but that will bake off in the oven.
Pour the prepared sauce over the seared meatballs then top with the cheese. Place in the oven uncovered for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and browning.
