Preheat oven to 350℉.
First, add the canned cherries into the baking dish. In a bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and the extract.
Next, add in the butter, then use a pastry cutter to mix the butter into the dry ingredients until crumbs form.
Take those crumbs and sprinkle them across the cherries in the baking pan.
Place in the oven and bake for 45 minutes. Once the topping is golden, remove from the oven.
Allow to cool 15-20 minutes for the top to become crunchy then serve with ice cream or cool whip.
