First, preheat the oven to 400°F.
In a mixing bowl, add the ground sausage, all the contents from the Red Lobster biscuit mix minus the silver packet, salt, garlic powder and onion powder. Mix those together then fold the cheese into the dough.
If you have a stand mixer, mixing will be simple, put it in and let it go. If not, work the ingredients together with your hand kneading the sausage and the flour until everything is even. This will take about 5 minutes to do.
Now, using a cookie scoop or a kitchen spoon, scoop the sausage ball dough in your hand and roll the sausage balls. I was able to get 25-30 sausage balls with this recipe the few times I've made it.
Bake in the preheated oven until the sausage balls at least reach an internal temp of 145°F. This will take about 15 minutes, they cook really fast. When removed from the oven, melt the butter then add in the sliver packet along with these extra seasonings (1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp dried parsley, 1/2 tsp onion powder) into the butter. You'll need the extra seasoning for the flavor to really come through. Brush the sausage balls then serve when cooled.
