Preheat the oven to 400℉ and oil a sheet pan. For easy clean-up you can line it with aluminum foil then spray the foil with oil.
Now, slice the hard bottoms from the asparagus. Then, oil the asparagus well. Be sure to oil every inch of them.
Now, toss them with the minced garlic, salt, pepper and the grated parmesan cheese. Lay them out in the sheet pan then cover with the shredded parmesan cheese if you decide to use it.
Place the pan in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. When the time is up, remove them and allow to cool a bit before serving.
