To start, slice the plantains the long way and peel the outside skin to reveal the plantain. Depending on how green the plantain is you may need to cut the skin from the plantain. Slice the plantain in slices 1.5-2 inches thick.
In a bowl, toss the plantains in vegetable oil very well. Massage them the oil to make sure each part is covered with oil to prevent premature burning. Season with salt to taste.
Preheat the air fryer to 375℉.
Place the prepped plantains in the air fryer and cook for 12 minutes. Rotate them halfway through.
When the time is up the outside will be crispy but they won't stay crispy as they cool. They are ready to serve and enjoy.
