Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 pound butternut squash, cubed
  • 1.5 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

  • First, preheat the air fryer to 350℉
  • Then, prep the butternut squash cubes by tossing them in the seasoning. Note, do not season too early. The salt will make the butternut squash begin to release a bunch of water.
  • Now, once the air fryer is heated toss in a handful of the cubed butternut squash. Do not stack them on one another but you can make an even layer across the air fryer basket. The cubes will shrink as they cook.
  • Air fry the seasoned cubes for 15 minutes. Then, give the basket a good shake and cook for a remaining 10 minutes.
  • The cubes should be soft and caramelized. Allow to cool a bit before serving because the insides will be hot. Serve alone or with a drizzle of honey or maple.
