First, you want to make the sauce first. Chop up all the ingredients needed for the sauce. Quick tip, season with salt and pepper as you go along. This is done by adding in a little at a time as you move to the next step or add ingredients.
Now, in a pot brown the ground turkey first. Remove the turkey once it's all cooked and set it to the side.
Then, in the pan add the diced onions, diced red bell pepper and the garlic. Cook everything until the ingredients are soft and fragrant.
Next, toss in the chopped basil and cook for about 15 seconds. Now carefully pour in the crushed tomatoes and lower the heat to avoid splashing.
Add in the balsamic then cover the pot and simmer the sauce for 20 minutes. While the sauce is simmering preheat the oven to 375℉, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package and shred your cheese unless you bought pre-shredded.
Once the sauce is done do your last taste for salt and pepper. Next in a 16x9 baking dish start to layer your lasagna.
Now, first you want to layer a little sauce because the noodles will stick to the bottom if you don't. Next layer are the noodles and you can overlap them a bit, you should be able to get 4 noodles on each layer. Three across and one side-ways at the edge.
The next layer will be sauce, dollops of ricotta then spread them within the sauce. Now, some cheese and then repeat. The last later should be noddles with sauce then cheese on top to finish the turkey lasagna. Cover the baking dish with foil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes watching the cheese. If you like the crispy edges remove the foil and bake longer or place the dish under the broil for a few minutes which is faster.
Lastly, allow the lasagna to cool a bit and serve.
