Equipment

  • 9x13 baking dish

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 6.5 cup strawberries, sliced (2 pound container)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar (for the strawberries)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉.
  • Pour the butter into the bottom of the baking pan.
  • Slice the strawberries in halves then toss in the sugar and cornstarch. Place them in the baking pan on top of the butter.
  • In a bowl, combine the flour, sugars, baking powder and salt. Then, whisk in the milk and pour the batter on top of the strawberries. It doesn't need to be perfect, it'll spread where it spreads when baking.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until the batter has risen and turned a golden brown forming the topping as you see in the photos.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool 15-20 minutes then serve with ice cream.
