Equipment

  • Sheet pan
  • parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter equiv. 1 cup or 16 TB
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12-15 graham crackers
  • 2 cup pecans roughly chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉.
  • In a non-stick pot, add in the butter, brown sugar and salt. Turn the pot on medium heat and allow everything to cook down. Occasionally stir the ingredients but not too much. Once everything has melted down and come to a light boil, allow to continue to boil for about 5 minutes.
  • Lay the graham crackers out on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper. You can break them to make them fit if needed. Next, pour the hot ingredients from the pot on top of the graham crackers. Be careful, you basically pouring hot candy so it will stick to you and burn if it touches you.
  • Once you've poured the mix on top of the crackers you can use a knife to spread it out evenly if needed. Now, sprinkle the chopped pecans across the top. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to fully cool. Once cooled, break the pecan pie bark up and serve.
