Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 2 cup pancake mix see recipe notes
  • 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  • Mix the breakfast sausage and dry pancake mix until evenly combined.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and maple syrup.
  • Portion and roll the mixture into balls about 2 inches in diameter. You should get roughly 20–30 sausage balls, depending on size.
  • Place on a sheet pan and bake for 15–20 minutes, adjusting as needed for the size of the sausage balls.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use the pancake mix dry straight from the bag. Do not prepare pancake batter first.
