Ingredients

  • 12 ounce bag of fresh green beans
  • 1.5 pound baby Yukon or red potatoes
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • First, prep all the ingredients. Then, chop up the bacon and cook the bacon in a pot. Leave all the bacon fat in the dish when you remove the cooked bacon. 
  • Now, add in the onion and garlic. Have the heat around medium high so it's not too hot. Season with salt and pepper as you go.
  • Once the onions and garlic have brown and are fragrant add in the flour and mix in with the ingredients.
  • Next, pour in the chicken broth. Then add in the chopped potatoes and green beans over the top.
  • Lower the heat to medium to medium low and cover with a lid. The green beans and potatoes will slowly cook for 20-30 minutes but come back and give them a stir and check the heat about every 5 minutes or so.
  • When the potatoes are tender the recipe is finished. Lastly, add bacon back in and taste for salt and pepper before serving.
