Before starting, you want to make the marinade and place the flank steak in for about 1-4 hours max, not overnight.
When ready to cook, preheat the oven to 400F.
Once the steak has marinated, cover the steak in the seasonings mixed with the oil. This will protect the spices a little more in the cooking process.
Now in a frying pan on medium high heat, sear the flank steak until the outside is seared and charred a little. The inside will very likely still be raw at this point but transfer the sear steak to a sheet pan.
Place the flank steak in the oven and stay close by. Check in 5 minute intervals flipping the steak until the inside reaches your desired temperature.
Once finished cooking allow the steak to cool a bit before slicing.
Slice the steak against the grain. This is very important for this cut. Serve with warm tortillas and your favorite toppings.
