Ingredients

  • 12 ounce peas fresh, canned or frozen
  • 4 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 2 cup whole milk any milk will do I just suggest whole for flavor
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 clove grated garlic

Instructions

  • In a sauce pan on medium heat add butter. Once butter has melted add in flour and "cook" flour for about 10-15 seconds which means to stir it around the pot.
  • Slowly pour in milk and heavy cream. It'll look as if you need more flour but allow it to reduce first, it's fine.
  • Add in your peas. Sprinkle in salt, black pepper then grate the garlic over the cream sauce. Bring to a simmer, continue to stir often because the cream sauce can possibly begin to stick.
  • Reduce until peas are tender and cream sauce is desired thickness. This should take around 15 minutes. 20 minutes for a extra creamy sauce.
  • Remove from heat when thickness is reached then serve.
