Ingredients

  • 3 salmon filets

bourbon glaze

  • 1/2 cup Jim Bean burbon whiskey
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Instructions

  • First, mix together the ingredients for the glaze in a small bowl then set to the side.
  • Now, season the salmon with salt and black pepper.
  • In a frying pan on medium high heat add a little oil then cook the salmon. Cook until completely finished.
  • When the salmon is done remove from the pan and lower the heat to medium.
  • Then, pour in the glaze you made earlier. The glaze will bubble and boil but allow it to slowly simmer down and reduce. Continue to stir or swirl the pan around to keep it moving.
  • Once you notice the glaze reducing add the salmon back into the pan. Now, baste the salmon with the glaze until the glaze has reduced enough to cover the back of a spoon.
  • Note, the glaze will not be thick like a gravy but more like a thin sauce. As it cools it will thicken even more. You can easily tell the difference once it thickens up versus when you first added the glaze into the pan.
