How To Make Pecan Crusted Salmon
Ingredients needed
- Salmon
- Pecans
- Japanese style panko
- Honey
- Brown sugar
- Dijon or mayo
- Butter
Quick tip before starting
The temperature is set to 350F for a few reason. One, salmon cooks very fast in the oven and this connects with the second. The other reason is because heat at 400F will begin to burn the pecan before the salmon can cook resulting in a not so pleasant flavor.
Making the pecan crusted salmon
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- In a small bowl mix all the ingredients for the crust. Then, season the salmon with salt and black pepper with the exception of the top where you’ll put the crust at.
- Now, take the dijon mustard and spread it across the top of the salmon. This is what will help the crust stick.
- Add the pecan crust to the tops of the salmon then place on a sheet pan.
- Now, place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until crust is brown and salmon is cooked through.
- Allow to cool a bit for the crust to harden and become crispy and the salmon to cool, enjoy.
